Advanced track

The advanced topics are coming. Build the core first.

FEA, CFD, control, and design optimization are powerful, but only once the fundamentals are solid. The Advanced Track is in development. Here is what it will cover, and how to be first in line.

01

Who this is for

  • Students who already understand the bachelor-level core.
  • Learners preparing for research, graduate study, or stronger industry portfolios.
  • People who want to use simulation tools with real engineering judgment, not as black boxes.

Public beta: MechCompass is currently in public beta. The roadmap and platform structure are live, while detailed course modules are being developed progressively.

02

What will be inside

Methods

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Control systems
  • Design optimization

Applications

  • Advanced machine design
  • Digital engineering and simulation workflows
  • Validation against hand calculations and data
03

What you will build

Simulation notebooksReproducible studies with assumptions, results, and checks.
Engineering reportsClear write-ups a reviewer or employer can follow.
CAD and FEA case studiesA model, a validated analysis, and a design decision.
Portfolio-ready projectsEvidence you can show, not just finished exercises.
04

A preview of the format

Locked preview

FEA: validating a bracket under load

Mesh a real part, apply loads and constraints, check that the mesh has converged, and confirm the result against a hand calculation before you trust it.

Unlocks after: Statics, Mechanics of Materials, and Numerical Methods.

Advanced content stays locked on purpose. Without the core, simulation tools produce confident-looking answers that are wrong. The roadmap shows the path to get there.
